Children’s Holiday Centre “Krista Djordjevic” in Montenegro

           The Red Cross of Serbia has a summer holiday centre for children called “Krista Djordjevic”, located by the sea in Baosic, Montenegro. The holiday centre can accommodate organised groups of children, aged from 5 to 14, accompanied by adult group leaders.It has a capacity of 300 beds; ten-bed dormitory rooms for the children, and double rooms for the adult supervisors. With its own kitchen and a spacious dining room, a full board service can be provided offering up to five meals per day. The centre home has its own beach, cinema, TV/video room, library, public address system, solar heating and supplementary heating, and well-equipped rooms for educational activities. Professional health care is provided in the centre’s own clinic. The Red Cross of Serbia organises the safe transport of children from their homes to the holiday centre and back.
During the 2002 summer season 3,236 children enjoyed the centre’s facilities, and for the 2003 season, 3,300 children are expected. A wide range of organized activities takes place during the stay of each group of children, including the following:
- swimming school
- music workshop
- art workshop
- actors workshop
- an organized evening program
- "Red Cross and Me"
